'The Third Day' by HBO sees Florence Welch in her acting debut
Florence Welch makes her TV acting debut as ‘Veronica’, including an exclusive song.
Florence Welch features in HBO’s new series ‘The Third Day’.
The series takes place over 4 episodes, each titled by a season. Florence appears in her TV acting debut in ‘Autumn’, the third episode.
The series sees a man travel to the island of Osea, on the coast of Essex (England, UK) and discover their ritualistic way of life. In ‘Autumn’, Florence Welch takes on the role of Veronica, a celtic-style chanteuse who greets him, leads him to a ritual spot and sings an untitled hymn written by Florence.
The episode mirrors many biblical moments, from the wiping of the face by Veronica, to crucifiction, to baptism. All in all, it leads to some stunning visuals.

Shine A Light - Florence Welch's birthday gift 2020
Since 2007, it has been clear that Florence + the Machine fans have been united with a common cause: for love, hope and bettering the world in which they live. Every day, we are inspired by the solidarity fans show during such testing times.
It is why, for Florence Welch’s 34th birthday, we have collaborated with fans Ariel (@flomachinenews) and Emily (@purefeelingflo) to create a donation page for fans to celebrate and continue to strive for a better world through supporting charities that Florence has also recognised in recent times. They include:
Médecins Sans Frontières - a charity aimed at providing medical care to all those in need of it, transcending borders, political ties and financial ability.
Mermaid UK - a charity which supports and nurtures the needs of transgender and gender-variant children and teens in the UK.
The Bail Project - an organisation which aims to prevent the mass incarceration of often under-represented groups in the US justice system, particularly those in poverty, black and ethnic minority groups, and many more.
This is a tough time financially for a lot of people, so any amount that you are able to donate would go a long way if you are in the position to do so.

Florence Welch graced the red carpet yesterday 24th November 2019 at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in London’s Coliseum. She wore a stunning mustard-yellow Gucci dress complete with a shell clutch-bag. Check out the images from the night below.
This appearance is particularly noteworthy, as it adds to the already strong evidence base that Florence is in the process of writing a musical - one of her career-long ambitions. We can’t wait to see what she comes up with, if this materialises.
